Governance, Ethics & Stewardship at MetaSyn Academy

Stewardship: Ethics, Privacy & Access

MetaSyn Academy treats data stewardship as part of evidence ethics. We’re transparent about what we collect, how we protect it, and why.

Privacy Philosophy

Minimal Collection

For enrollment and payment, we collect only what’s necessary to process checkout, grant access, and maintain basic course records.

Secure Storage

Data encrypted in transit and at rest. Regular security audits. Compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and international standards.

No Commercialization

Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with marketing partners. Period.

Terms of Use

We believe terms should be human-readable, not impenetrable legal jargon. Here’s what we ask, and why:

Respectful Use

Course materials are for your learning. Don’t share login credentials, republish videos, or resell access. This protects the integrity of the work.

Intellectual Property

MetaSyn’s curriculum, videos, and frameworks are our intellectual property. Your synthesis work and reflections are yours. Respect both boundaries.

Academic Integrity

Synthesis is your work. Don’t plagiarize others’ reviews, fabricate data, or misrepresent sources. We teach rigor partly through trusting you to embody it.

Learner Responsibility

You’re responsible for your learning. We provide tools, structure, and guidance. You do the thinking, reading, and synthesis work.

Full Terms: See our detailed Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Accessibility Commitment

Screen Reader Compatible

All video content has detailed captions and transcripts. Course materials are semantic HTML. Navigation is keyboard-accessible.

Clear Typography & Contrast

Font sizes are readable. Color contrast targets WCAG 2.2 AA standards. No reliance on color alone to convey meaning.

Global & Async Design

All courses are self-paced and asynchronous. Materials accessible 24/7. No live sessions that exclude time zones.

Ongoing Improvement

We test with users who have diverse abilities. Feedback shapes our accessibility roadmap.

Questions about accessibility? Contact us with your needs. We’ll work to accommodate them.

The MetaSyn Faculty Fellowship, Teach at the Frontier of Evidence

MetaSyn Academy is built around a small, deliberately-selected faculty of working meta-analysts who are also rigorous methodology educators. The Faculty Fellowship welcomes applications from exceptional candidates, with final selection by the academy founder. Selectivity is not exclusivity for its own sake, it is how we keep the curriculum aligned with the methods we actually practice.

Our Approach to Instruction

MetaSyn Academy is not an open marketplace for content. It is a curated academic partnership. Faculty are selected on four criteria, all required:

  • Published meta-analytic work. Demonstrated, peer-reviewed publications in systematic review, meta-analysis, or evidence synthesis. Not a teaching credential alone, methodological practice as well as methodological pedagogy
  • Teaching clarity. Ability to explain complex methodological ideas in accessible, precise language across discipline boundaries.
  • Ethical alignment. Commitment to transparency, intellectual honesty, and evidence-based pedagogy. Comfort with the academy’s “no-code, no-fear” philosophy
  • Field diversity. Faculty come from academia, clinical medicine, policy, HEOR, business, and applied research, never one silo

Faculty Partnership Model

Revenue Sharing

Instructors earn a percentage of course revenue. No flat fees. Your work’s success is rewarded directly.

Editorial Review

We align with PRISMA, Cochrane, GRADE. Founder review ensures rigor. Your voice is free; the standard is our constraint.

Long-term Collaboration

We build relationships, not transactional arrangements. Instructors are partners in the mission to advance evidence literacy.

Shared Philosophy

You commit to the method-first, field-agnostic approach. Your expertise is valued. Your autonomy is respected.

Ready to teach? The Faculty Fellowship is small by design and grows by founder selection. Exceptional candidates are welcome to apply at any time, final selection is by review of publications, teaching samples, and methodological alignment with the academy.

Scaling Evidence, Together.

MetaSyn Academy partners with institutions, organizations, and platforms that share our commitment to rigorous, accessible evidence literacy.

Partnership Principles

We welcome collaboration with universities, research centers, health systems, policy organizations, and evidence-driven companies. Every partnership is guided by shared principles:

Shared Academic Standards

Your institution values rigor. Ours does too. Partnerships don’t dilute standards, they amplify them.

Methodological Integrity

Co-developed programs, branded offerings, and curriculum integrations all maintain MetaSyn’s method-first philosophy.

Long-term Vision

We’re not selling content. We’re building capacity. Partnerships are strategic, lasting collaborations.

Mutual Growth

Success means your institution advances evidence literacy. That advances our mission too.
