STATISTICAL CONVERTER PRIVACY
MetaSyn Statistical Converter Privacy Policy
How the MetaSyn Statistical Converter handles statistical inputs, browser permissions, local processing, optional website forms and Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures.
MetaSyn Statistical Converter is designed to perform its supported statistical calculations locally inside the Chrome extension. The extension does not require an account and is designed without extension analytics, advertising, host permissions, browsing-history access, webpage-content access, saved calculation history, a MetaSyn calculation backend, or remote executable code. Statistical values entered into the converter are not intended to be transmitted to MetaSyn Academy or third parties.
The MetaSyn Academy website is separate from the extension. Optional website forms and site-level services are governed by MetaSyn Academy’s website privacy and governance practices.
1. Scope
This policy explains the data practices of the MetaSyn Statistical Converter Chrome extension and clarifies how those practices differ from activity on the supporting MetaSyn Academy website. It should be read together with the MetaSyn Statistical Converter methodology and validation page and its Chrome Web Store listing.
The extension, the Store listing, this policy and the Chrome Web Store Developer Dashboard disclosures must describe the same implementation. If a future release changes permissions, networking, storage, analytics, account features or other data practices, this policy must be updated with that release.
2. Statistical values entered into MetaSyn Statistical Converter
MetaSyn Statistical Converter uses statistical inputs such as effect estimates, confidence-interval bounds, standard errors, sampling variances and confidence levels only to perform the calculation requested by the user. The calculation is designed to occur inside the extension’s local execution environment.
The extension does not use those statistical inputs to create a MetaSyn Academy account, build a user profile, serve advertising, personalize marketing, or send calculation values to a MetaSyn Academy server.
3. Collection, transmission, sharing and sale
| Practice | MetaSyn Statistical Converter v1 extension |
|---|---|
| Account or sign-in required | No |
| Extension analytics or usage telemetry | No |
| Advertising or ad-network code | No |
| Transmission of calculation inputs to a MetaSyn backend/API | No |
| Sharing of calculation inputs with third parties | No |
| Sale of calculation inputs or extension user data | No |
| Saved calculation history | No |
| Remote executable code | No |
Because calculation inputs are not designed to be transmitted to or stored by MetaSyn Academy, MetaSyn does not maintain a server-side history of those calculations for later retrieval or deletion.
4. Browser permissions and access
| Browser capability | MetaSyn Statistical Converter v1 extension |
|---|---|
| Host permissions | No |
| Browsing-history access | No |
| Webpage-content access or content-script injection | No |
| Remote logic required to perform calculations | No |
MetaSyn Statistical Converter’s single purpose is to perform the supported statistical conversions described on its methodology page. The extension is therefore designed to request only the capabilities needed for that purpose and not to access unrelated browser or website data.
5. Storage and retention
MetaSyn Statistical Converter v1 is designed without saved calculation history. Closing or resetting the extension does not create a MetaSyn-hosted record of the statistical values entered for that calculation. If a future version introduces any persistence feature, that change will be disclosed before or with the release and reflected in the Chrome Web Store privacy declarations.
6. The MetaSyn Academy website is separate
Using the MetaSyn Statistical Converter extension is separate from using metasyn.academy. The supporting website may use ordinary site-level services described in MetaSyn Academy’s Governance, Ethics & Stewardship page. Those website services are not part of MetaSyn Statistical Converter’s calculation engine and do not receive the statistical values typed into the extension.
If you voluntarily request the optional Statistical Converter Conversion and Verification Record through a MetaSyn Academy webpage form, the website processes the email address you provide so the requested resource can be delivered. That email address is not collected by the MetaSyn Statistical Converter calculation engine and is not one of the statistical inputs entered into the extension.
Submitting an Academy website form must not be a condition for installing or using the free MetaSyn Statistical Converter extension.
7. Chrome Web Store disclosure parity and Limited Use
The Chrome Web Store Privacy tab, Store listing, this policy and the released extension package must remain consistent. Google requires Chrome Web Store developers to keep privacy disclosures accurate, to limit data use to the extension’s disclosed single purpose, and to request the narrowest permissions necessary for that purpose.
MetaSyn Statistical Converter does not currently request or use information received from Google APIs. If a future version does so, the use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Security and implementation changes
MetaSyn treats privacy statements as implementation claims, not marketing language. The release package should therefore be checked whenever a change could affect permissions, network requests, storage, analytics, telemetry or remote code behavior. If a future release introduces a new data practice, the relevant in-extension disclosure, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy fields must be updated consistently.
9. Contact and support
Questions about MetaSyn Statistical Converter, its methodology, technical behavior or this privacy policy can be sent through MetaSyn Academy’s Contact & Academic Support page.
